Previous Topics:

June 6: Sidekick

My favorite sidekick from recent reads has got to be the Direwolves of the Stark and Snow children from Game of Thrones.  And Ghost, who belongs to Eddard Stark’s bastard son Jon Snow is my favorite.  Ghost don’t play and I love that he was the perfect wolf for Jon.  He was the outcast of his brothers and sisters, like Jon, and his fur is as white and brilliant as, SNOW.  There is nothing he wouldn’t do to protect Jon, and I love that in the cold and harsh place of the Wall, Jon has a loyal and trusted friend he can always depend on.  And frankly I just have a thing for wolves.  And Ghost is so beautiful with his white fur and read eyes.

June 13: Fave Authors

This will always be the hardest question when it comes to books for me.  But I’ll just go with the ones that are automatic buys for me:

Francis Ray:  I’ve loved her books since I snapped up her book Only Hers from the bookmobile by chance when I was a young teen.  Maybe even younger.  That is my all time favorite romance book and I make a point to read it at least once a year, sometimes more.  Though I’m so used to her writing I know exactly what I’ll get, I still can’t resist buying and reading her new books.

Jude Deveraux:  She writes some of the most AMAZING historical romance, and time travel books I have ever read.  I can always get lost in her books and even love her contemporaries because she always manages to incorporate a little mystery.

Beverly Jenkins:  After I got into historicals I wondered if there was anyone writing AA historicals, and I found Beverly Jenkins.  I’m so glad I found this author because she can work magic in her stories.  I always get to read about the most amazing historical AA characters, and the obstacles they had to overcome.  She also layers her books with real historical events, which makes them all the more interesting.

J.K. Rowling: Really no explanation here.  She wrote the most wonderful and memorable series ever, and I will always be grateful to her for giving me Harry Potter.

June 20: Children’s Book

Loved this book as a kid because the two perspectives of the kids are similar but in different ways.  It always reminded me a lot of me and my brother and I have a copy of this book to read to my nephew once his attention span gets better.  Judy Blume just knew how to reach the kids with her work.

June 27: Bookish Sites

Barnes and Noble, Books-A-Million, and Amazon.  Really anywhere I can buy a good book and find a good sale!

Current Topic!:

July 4: Favorite Character

I’m sure you all know this by now!  Dear Jacob Black….you will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart.  I can’t imagine having finished the Twilight books without your entire existence.  YOU kept me reading until the end. YOU kept me entertained.  YOU were a big mass of  sweetness, loyalty, and manliness all rolled up in gorgeosity.  You are my dream friend, and if you were real, you’d be the perfect guy for me.  Too bad you got shafted in Breaking Dawn.  But know my love for you is undying if you ever want to drop the kid and have a ‘normal’ relationship!  LOL….Jake, as a character, you are PERFECTION!
